A new study identifies companies with the best corporate social responsibility (CSR) reputations and two digital firms have won the top two positions.
A CSR Rep Trak study ranks the top 100 companies based on reputable citizenship, governance and workplace.
Here are their top ten firms:
1. Google
2. Microsoft
3. Walt Disney
4. BMW
5. Apple
6. Lego
7. Volkswagen
8. & 9. Intel and Rolex (tie)
10. Daimler
According to the CSR Rep Trak top 100 study, only 6 of the 100 companies in the study have a strong reputation. Consumers are uncertain, but increasing awareness about CSR is key to company performance. The better a company's CSR reputation the more likely they are to be able to foster desired supportive behaviors among consumers, including buying their products, recommending their company, or trusting the company to do the right thing when faced with difficulties or disruptions.
