Event - Building Climate Solutions Conference

The 14th national conference and global forum on science, policy and the environment will take place on January 28 - 30, 2014 in Washington D.C. hosted by the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE). At this conference leading decision-makers will convene to advance climate solutions. The two central topics will be the Built Environment and Agriculture & Natural Resources.

Over 1,200 key individuals from many fields of natural and social science, humanities and engineering, government and policy, business and civil society to develop actionable partnerships, strategies and tactics that advance solutions to minimize the impacts of anthropogenic climate change. Topics will include mitigation solutions to minimize the consequences of climate change and adaptation solutions for those consequences that cannot be avoided.

In the wake of the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report (AR5), over 200 leading speakers from government agencies, multinational companies, global NGOs, and international development and foundation communities will come together to discuss the challenges and solutions of climate change.

Workshops and Symposia

The conference’s 56 workshops and symposia are structured around seven primary themes: [1] Framing Climate Change Science; [2] Framing the Challenges Facing Societies; [3] Framing Solutions; [4] The Built Environment; [5] Agriculture and Natural Resources; [6] Implementing Solutions; [7] Moving from Science to Action.
