Video - Farcical Comedy on Keystone XL Jobs
This video uses humor to address the outlandish Keystone XL jobs claims made by vested interests in the old energy economy. While some have said that the pipeline will create thousands of jobs, even President Obama, a believer in the "all of the above" energy strategy, has indicated that the number of permanent jobs from the Keystone would be dozens rather than thousands. This outrageous satire spoofs the types of jobs that are being offered and amusingly makes the point that the jobs associated with the pipeline underscore the dangers of the Keystone XL itself. Prepare to laugh (or cry) at the absurdity of building the Keystone XL. Watch as they cleverly use "fictitious humor to tell the truth.” They address prescient false dichotomies like the division between a strong economy and a clean environment.
This video from Movement Generation was written by and starring Josh Healey and Donte Clark. It is meant to draw attention to the Our Power Campaign, a national grassroots effort to create millions of climate jobs which both meet people’s needs and care for natural resources and ecosystems.
