According to a recent Environics study commissioned by WWF-Canada, almost three quarters (73 percent) of Canadians support government actions to promote electric cars, however, many do not understand the environmental value of driving EVs.
According to the WWF's research only 26 percent of Canadians strongly agree that vehicle emissions in Canada are a major source of climate change. A total of 36 percent of Canadians are unsure about the impact of an EV on reducing GHG emissions.
The WWF program is designed to help address this problem by informing Canadians about the environmental value of EVs.

That seems like a pretty low number of people thinking that vehicle emissions are causing a lot of trouble for the environment. I guess there should be a greater amount of information dissemination for canada's populace about this problem.
