Event - The 2016 Ashoka U Exchange Conference

This event will take place on February 26-28, 2016 Tulane University, New Orleans, LA. This is a participant-driven conference for higher education leaders to advance social innovation on campus.

The Ashoka U Exchange is the world’s largest convening for social entrepreneurship in higher education, it brings together 650 university faculty, staff, and administrators representing 150 institutions to share new ways of teaching and learning that will shape the way educational institutions influence the world.

The Exchange is more than a conference; it’s a thriving network of thought partners. Over the course of three days, Exchange participants will explore the local community to see what innovation looks like on the ground; share their expertise leading and launching social innovation offerings; engage in conversation during small group workshops; and learn from field experts about the newest trends and innovations in higher education.

Unlike many other conferences, the Exchange is application-based. The application allows Ashoka U to bring together a community of participants who share both interest and experience regarding social change and social impact in higher education. The application is also a huge driver in creating the Exchange agenda – approximately 75% of the Exchange content is driven directly by participants, ensuring that the topics and discussions that take place are relevant and meaningful for all participants. There is something for everyone here.

Each year the Exchange is hosted by one of the Ashoka U Changemaker Campuses. In 2016 the host will be Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. The following campuses hosted past Exchanges: Duke University (2011), Arizona State University (2012), University of San Diego (2013), Brown University (2014), and University of Maryland (2015).
