Keynote address
U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell to deliver keynote address We’re excited to welcome U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell as Keynote Speaker, who will address the progress that has been made in advancing offshore wind in the U.S. As Secretary of the Interior, Jewell leads an agency with more than 70,000 employees. Interior serves as steward for approximately 20 percent of the nation’s lands, including national parks, national wildlife refuges, and other public lands; oversees the responsible development of conventional and renewable energy supplies on public lands and waters; is the largest supplier and manager of water in the 17 Western states; and upholds trust responsibilities to the 566 federally recognized American Indian tribes and Alaska Natives.

Educational posters will be displayed on the exhibit floor. Poster authors will be at their posters during the Poster Reception, Tuesday, October 7, 5:15 pm – 6:15 pm. Take advantage of this opportunity to speak to the authors about their poster presentations. Closing General Session: DOE Advanced Technology Demonstration Project Initiative Earlier this year at WINDPOWER 2014, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced which offshore projects would proceed to Phase 2 of the Offshore Wind Advanced Technology Demonstration: Fishermen’s Energy Atlantic City Windfarm, Principle Power Windfloat, and Dominion Virginia Power.
