The mass produced all electric Leaf was a great achievement for Nissan. The company is following up with the Esflow concept car, on display at the 2011 Geneva International Motor Show in March. The Esflow is an all-electric sports coupe that looks like a smaller version of the Nissan 370Z.
This EV sports car features a lightweight aluminum body and roll cage, twin rear electric motors and lithium-ion batteries slung low for better weight distribution. The Esflow is capable of zero to 60 mph acceleration times of less than 4 seconds.
The batteries should give the car a range of about 150 miles, which is much better than the Leaf's 73 miles of range.
Nissan and its partner, French carmaker Renault, are leading with their promise to put 1.5 million electric cars on the road by 2016. If the Esflow ever goes into production, it could be one of the most attractive, best forming EVs on the market.
