State of Green Business Report 2012

On January 18th 2012, GreenBiz.com released its State of Green Business report. In this the fifth annual edition of the report GreenBiz once again measures the environmental impacts of the emerging green economy. The report measures 20 aspects of environmental performance, from carbon emissions to paper use and recycling.

There's good and bad news in this year's report; the good news is that companies continue to dedicate time, money and staff to setting and meeting ambitious environmental goals.

The bad news is that the research shows a slowing of momentum. On some of the indicators there is even evidence of a reversal. This backwards momentum has been documented in the areas of investments in clean technology innovations, overall energy intensity, certifications of LEED buildings, paper use and recycling.

For the first time, this year's report includes essays on the salient trends by industry experts, including Amory Lovins, Jigar Shah and many others.
