Through their innovative products, systems and solutions Siemens strives to improve the quality of life for people around the world. Their efforts include high energy efficiency for climate protection, supply of clean water, health protection, and environmentally compatible transportation systems. Siemens considers the entire lifecycle of its products and has targeted a 20% reduction in emissions by the end of this year.
Siemens has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions in part by optimizing and eliminating business travel. Through cutbacks in air travel alone, they avoided 40,000 tons of CO2 emissions compared to a year earlier.
Siemens offers specialized training courses to its employees including workshops on how to use the SESIS reporting tool. Siemens also holds a global environmental award for best practice throughout their organization.
