On October 20, the Sustainable Industries Economic Forum was held between 8 and 11 AM. The Sustainable Industries Economic Forums are annual, high-profile business breakfasts that feature inspiring keynotes, interactive workshops and high-powered networking. Now in its 8th year, the event series has featured luminary speakers Cameron Sinclair, Paul Hawken, Ray Anderson, Arianna Huffington, Van Jones, governors, mayors, leading economists, and dozens of Sustainable Industries most innovative CEOs.
Their mission is to re-inspire the inspired, connect sustainable business thought leaders, and help get business done.
The forum addressed the following issues.
1. Create
Alex Bogusky, iconoclastic ad man, who made Crispin Porter + Bogusky the world's most awarded agency, then turned heads with the launch of the FearLess Revolution, shared his inspiring story and introduced Common, a collaborative brand for social entrepreneurs.
2. Scale
Bonnie Nixon, who redefined supply chain ethics and stakeholder engagement as Director of Environmental Sustainability at HP, talked about scaling sustainability in the world's most impactful corporations from her new role as Executive Director of The Sustainability Consortium.
3. Engage
BBMG unveiled a new branding campaign and the lessons learned from a case study with the founders of Getaround, a fast-growing, San Francisco-based Access Economy icon, winner of the 2010 BBMG Collective Prize presented by Sustainable Industries.
The event was followed by interactive Q&A with the experts moderated by Nick Aster, founder of Triple Pundit, and high-impact networking.
