Event - International Conference & Exhibition on Clean Energy

The 5th International Conference & Exhibition on Clean Energy (ICCE 2016) will take place on August 22 -24, 2016 at the McGill University New Residence Hall (Formerly Renaissance Hotel) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. ICCE 2016 provides a platform for researchers and scientists to share their research work while the participants from industry can promote their products . This is an excellent opportunity for the delegates from universities and institutes to interact with the their colleagues. The Keynote Lecture "Nanosized transition metal oxides for electrochemical energy storage and production " will be given by Dr. Ana C. Tavares

Dr. Ana C. Tavares is a Professor at Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique, Canada. Her current research interests include development of electrocatalysts and organic - inorganic hybrid ion conducting materials for energy related applications, water treatment and electrochemical biosensing. She received her PhD from the University of Lisbon in 1998, was a PDF fellow at University of Milan from 1998 to 2000 and worked at Pirelli Labs in Milan as Senior Research from 2000 to 2005. She has published more than 45 papers, has 8 applications / granted patents and a book chapter.

The Keynote Lecture "The integrated forest biorefinery as a source of clean energy and green products" will be given by Dr. Mariya Marinova

Dr. Mariya Marinova is a Research Scientist in the Chemical Engineering Department at Polytechnique Montreal and Co-director of the Research Unit on Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development of the Forest Biorefinery. Her current activities are in the field of forest biomass conversion and integration of biorefining technologies in pulp and paper mills. Since 2011 she has been involved in the organization of the International Forest Biorefinery Symposium, an annual event held in conjunction with PaperWeek Canada, featuring the most important forest biorefinery program in Canada. Dr. Marinova holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Institut National Polytechnique in Toulouse, France and was a NSERC industrial postdoctoral fellow at FPInnovations.

The Keynote Lecture "A Novel Process To Produce Green Biofuel with Zero Landfill- A Sustainable Waste to Energy Process " will be given by Mr. Xu Fei Wu

Mr. Xu Fei Wu is founder and Chief Scientist of W&Y Environmental International Inc. (W&Y), a Canadian environmental and sustainable energy technology company with patented landfill processes and proprietary waste to energy technologies. He has worked in environmental and sustainable energy fields over the last 25 years. Before W&Y, he worked for Conestoga-Rovers & Associates Limited, Microbe Environmental Science and Technology Inc. of Canada and The Ministry of Nuclear Industry and Ministry of Space Flight Industry of China. Xu Fei Wu holds a Master of Engineering Science degree from The University of Western Ontario.

The Keynote Lecture "Transition to Renewable Energies: A Reality Check " will be given by Dr. Marcel Lacroix

Dr. Marcel Lacroix is a physicist and a professional engineer who holds a doctorate in nuclear engineering. His professional career spans more than 35 years in the private and public sectors in Canada and abroad. He has been a chief technical manager at Atomic Energy of Canada and Professor at many universities among which the Université Claude Bernard and the École des Mines in France. He is currently a full Professor at the Université de Sherbrooke and a private consultant for the power and process industry. He is the author of numerous technical publications among which textbooks on thermodynamics and popular books on energy and society.

The Keynote Lecture " Clean and Green Hydrocarbons " will be given by

Mr. Krzysztof Palka

Dr. Krzysztof Palka has diverse expertise in sustainability focused business strategy, renewable energy, sustainable operations, technology development, automation, mechanical engineering, lean manufacturing, production optimization along with an executive education from Harvard Business School and MSc in Mechanical Engineering. His personal vision of simplicity, thinking long term, and relentlessly pursuing process and energy efficiency with high quality results is founded on collaborative and accountable business practices.

As Chief Strategist, Sustainability, Innovation and Operational Leadership at Imaginea, Krzysztof drives sustainability initiatives, environmentally conscious innovation, investment in clean technologies and product stewardship to support the Planet and People and Profit vision of the company. In addition, he is active in leading and facilitating research in the pursuit of green hydrocarbon production through selection, testing, and initial practical implementation of sustainable operational activities, technologies and continuous improvement practices. His interests include energy efficiency, green hydrocarbons, pollution free oil production, fresh and produced water conservation, renewable energy, and advancement of hydrocarbons away from energy and towards clean and green hydrocarbons as perpetually recyclable and reusable materials. .

The Keynote Lecture " Renewable Energy, production and Application in Northern Canada's Communities " will be given by Mr. Dennis Bevington

Mr. Dennis Bevington MP for the NWT from 2006-15 has 25 years of practical experience in northern energy systems, policy development and technology deployment. Mr Bevington was NDP Energy Critic from 2006 to 2008, Transport Critic from 2009 to 2011 and was the Northern Development Critic for 10 years. He was vice chair of the Standing Committee of Parliamentarians of the Northern Regions till Oct 2015.

1988- 97 Mayor of Fort Smith, NT, Bevington's hometown.

His time included 3 years as President of the NWT Association of Municipalities, and a Director of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. He served for 5 years on the FCM Green Fund, selecting projects for support across Canada, many of which were for renewable energy.

2001-2003 Bevington served as Special Advisor to the Premier of the NWT on Energy, running an Energy Secretariat which produced the NWT Energy Plan. 1997- present- President of Stand Alone Energy Systems Ltd. Stand Alone Energy Systems was founded in 1997, to forward the use of renewable energy in Northern communities. We have engaged in projects from micro turbines, hydrogen utilization, solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, cold climate heat pumps, heat storage, energy efficiency, and community energy planning
