    1. After seeing Inside Job and Economics of Happiness, saving old school capitalism expecting the profit only motive to get us out of this train wrek is really hard to fathom. Have you read Stiglitz or Korten, McKibbon, Zinn....seems that you might want to get out of the business tunnel and ask the hard questions. Fair profit is a big step away from "to capitalize" on one's neighbors (the world is a small planet after all)

    2. Thanks for your comment Deborah. Yes I have read, and I continue to read, but given the urgency of the crisis we face we must act now. I wish it were possible to find a solution that did not pertain to our base emotions. The reality is that decades of well intentioned efforts have not made much of a difference. If we are to make the changes within the time frames we have left we will have to make use of the mechanisms that are available to us today. We do not have time to reinvent our world. However, I do not believe that "old school capitalism" is the answer. I am an advocate of what you could call new school capitalism. In this system we will factor the environment and social issues into the economic equation.
